(Re)Introducing Nicki Strong

You might be familiar with Nicki Strong from our 2014 Ambassadors line-up – we are very pleased to be extending our partnership! If you don’t know Nicki’s background – or her horses – read on!

“I’m Nicki Strong and I’m very excited to be part of Team Horslyx for the second time in 2015! I’m based in Hampshire, and my main passion is eventing. I work full time in communications, but have three horses and also do some equestrian journalism in my ‘spare time’ – whatever that is!”

“Last year my ex-racehorse Blue and I embarked upon our first season eventing together both as newbies, and completed three BE90s and two BE100s, so I was very proud of him. We also do quite a bit of unaffiliated showjumping and dressage when not eventing. The plan is to continue competing at BE100 this season and hopefully with a bit of experience we can start posting the double clears he is very capable of, and improve our dressage so that we can be competitive this season – powered by Horlsyx! He doesn’t know it yet but I have lots planned for him this season, so watch this space.”

“Monty is another ex-racehorse and a new addition to my string – kind of. I’ve actually had him for seven years, but he returned from loan last Autumn having lost his love for jumping. His confidence is coming back and I hope that we can go eventing this season at whatever level he’s comfortable with, otherwise he’ll be doing his flicky toes thing which he’s very good at and hopefully teaching me a thing or two about how to do dressage properly! He is just shy of 17h, full of character and uber gorgeous.”

“Ruby is my 15.2 seven year old sport horse, and she’s just returning to work after a kissing spines operation that she had in December. All the early signs are very good, so with lots of work and a little bit of luck, I hope she can finally be comfortable and able to start her competitive career properly. Fingers firmly crossed that 2015 will be her year, time to unleash the pocket rocket!”

“Between the three of them they will certainly be keeping me busy this year, and I am hopeful that with mobility Horslyx keeping them happy inside and out, we will have another successful year with plenty of ribbons and smiles to show for it!”
