Cleo Murphy joins our 2016 team

A big welcome to 2016 Ambassador Cleo Murphy

“My name is Cleo Murphy. I am 23 years young and am from the westest of west Cork, Ireland! I come from a land of bog, hills and breathtaking views. I am a full time equine enthusiast with a 2.1 degree in Equine Science. I work two part time jobs to fund my horse addiction: Mileens Cheese and my mother’s marine hardware shop, Limar Marine.”

“I took the position of Secretary for my local pony club this year and have such plans for the club! I have been part of Beara pony club for the last 9 years, being one of two members to have ever passed the H test. I am a qualified Pony Club junior instructor and teach at my club. I also represented Beara at the Pony Club national eventing championships for the last 4 years in a row, the only one from my club! I am aiming for the A test this year.”

“Last year I saw my first “real grown up” show (something outside pony club!) which was the Silver Spurs. Dressage Ireland and Horse Sport Ireland run the competition and I qualified for the semi finals and the finals. It was a real step outside my comfort zone, I wasn’t in Beara anymore!”

“I own four horses (or ponies as I refer to them as) Narayan, Aladdin, Danu and Edanna. I mainly compete with Danu (Dunboy Duchess) and Aladdin (Allihies Arab) in dressage and eventing. Danu is a 16 years old, 15hh draught/cob mare. We have had her for the past 9 years. She has an absolute heart of gold and tanks every cross country course. I am currently competing her at an unaffiliated dressage league at prelim and novice level. My plans for her this year is to dabble in working hunter. I have a real soft spot for showing!”

“Aladdin is a 16 year young 14.1hh cross arab gelding. He is my little pocket rocket that just loves to gallop! He took me from my pony club C test to winning my first ever one day event. We took 4th place at our first championship qualifier last year and qualified for the championships 2 years in a row. I plan on qualifying for the Eventing Ireland Championships this year at EI90 level with him.”

“Narayan is my life long project. He is a 15.2hh, 16 year old full thoroughbred and a rescue horse. When I got him, he had no book or story. I have worked through many of his issues (and tracked down his book!) over the years and now we have finally arrived at a place to work from! He has always had a stiffness problem and I am excited to see him on the mobility Horslyx and see the effect with him.”

“Edanna (Eyeries Rouge) is a 15hh 6 year old cob. She was a wonderful surprise, as we did not know Danu was in foal (oops). Ignorance is bliss! She is a big pet and mainly my Mothers horse. I have done a bit of showing with her and she just loves all the attention.”

“This year I have the opportunity to ride my riding instructors mare, Isolbelle. She is a 7 year old Irish sport horse. I will be competing her in dressage and (all going well) qualify for the Silver Spurs finals this year with her.”

“I am over the moon to be part of the Horslyx team for 2016. I have used the products in the past and always been impressed with the results from my horses. I am looking forward to the upcoming season, and representing a fantastic company!”
